Irreconcilable Differences?

Description
The ICJS is pleased to announce the publication by Westview Press of Irreconcilable Differences?: A Learning Resource for Jews and Christians, edited by David F. Sandmel, Rosann M. Catalano, and Christopher M. Leighton. The book is written by Jewish and Christian educators and is intended for use both in college courses and by adult learners. This learning resource explores basic questions that lie at the heart of the Jewish and Christian traditions and that can serve to build a bridge for understanding between the two religions. Each chapter includes discussion questions. Irreconcilable Differences? is a companion text to Christianity in Jewish Terms.

Rabbi David F. Sandmel has served as the Jewish Scholar at the Institute for Christian & Jewish Studies
in Baltimore, where he directed the National Jewish Scholars Project. He is a co-editor of Christianity in Jewish Terms, to which he has also contributed an essay.

Dr. Rosann M. Catalano is the Roman Catholic scholar on staff at the Institute for Christian & Jewish Studies in Baltimore. She has also served as assistant professor of systematic theology at St. Mary's Seminary & University in Baltimore, and adjunct professor of religious studies at the Weekend College, The College of Notre Dame of Maryland, also in Baltimore. Dr. Catalano lectures widely to Protestant, Jewish, and Catholic audiences on theological and interfaith topics.

Dr. Christopher M. Leighton is an ordained Presbyter- ian minister who has served as the executive director of the Institute for Christian & Jewish Studies since its inception in 1987. In addition to his work at the ICJS,
he has been an adjunct professor at the Johns Hopkins University and the Ecumenical Institute of Theology at St. Mary's Seminary & University.
