Timely Talk
ICJS aims to provide an opportunity for timely, serious learning that yields deeper understanding of difficult issues arising in the news or general affairs.
In order to respond quickly to contemporary developments in American religious life, the ICJS holds occasional Timely Talks. Some are organized in response to recent developments, such as a panel on Benedict XVI and recent tensions in Catholic-Jewish relations. Other talks address prominent and often controversial issues that deserve thoughtful, balanced investigation. As a response to the sensationalism and superficiality of much that is found in the popular media, we aim to provide an opportunity for timely, serious learning that yields deeper understanding of difficult issues.
