Rabbi David Greenspoon offers six lunchtime sessions on the topic Jewish Views of the Afterlife. The survey will cover material from the biblical period, Second Temple literature, rabbinic literature, medieval philosophers and midrash, Kabbalistic literature, and Hasidic sources. Institute scholars will join our study as available. All texts will be provided in translation and no prior knowledge of the material or the ability to read Hebrew is required. Everyone is invited to bring a dairy or vegetarian lunch and join us around the table as we feed body and mind. There is no fee for this series, but space is limited.
